The Reward of Perseverance

Like I said before, be persistent and let the saw do the work, regardless of how long it may take. Just make sure there is an alternative light source for when your persistence exceeds the setting of the sun!

By the light of a new day and employing a finely tuned card scraper, removal of those pesky resaw marks was a breeze.

With the resaw marks removed, the knuckles filed, and details cut in the top and bottom, it was time for a decent slathering of boiled linseed oil and turpentine.

A little more oil over the next few days, a couple of coats of beeswax when dried, then this commissioned piece is off to Colorado!
