With the carving completed, it was time to separate the front and sides. I’ve said this before, but sawing through a carved board can be quite unnerving. But on the other hand, it can also be quite a confidence builder!
After edging the individual parts, I cut rebates into the front and back pieces. Then a quick gravity-fit to check for squareness, and to determine the drawer height.
I do believe sawing through the actual carving is the scariest!
I managed to get the carcase nailed together, the fixed tray secured, and the floor attached before calling it a day. It appears that I’m right on schedule!
