I finished the last of the serving boards. A walnut piece, 7-1/2″ W x 14″ L x 1″ T. I think walnut is my second favorite wood to carve, next to cherry. I am quite pleased with how the pattern turned out.
With eighteen or so items ready for the upcoming art show, I do believe I’m going to take a well-deserved break. After which I’ll apply another coat of beeswax to everything, and get it all packed up.
My shop sure needs a good cleaning, as it is ankle deep in shavings. From cherry to oak, walnut to alder, not to mention the pine and poplar!
I think I’m now ready to tackle a paneled coffer. The serving boards turned out better than expected, so the panels should be no problem. I just need to settle on a pattern. After the show, I’ll replenish my stores and start all over again. Perhaps I should get a bigger table. LOL!
